The fall landscape season: An untapped opportunity or a missed opportunity?
Nick Menchyk, assistant professor, Dept. of Urban Horticulture and Design
Farmingdale State College, Farmingdale, NY
Nick Menchyk, graduated from Clemson University with a Ph.D. in Plant and Environmental Science. His research focused on foliar fertilization efficiency, turfgrass nutrition, and physiology of warm season turfgrasses. Menchyk joined the faculty of Farmingdale State College in 2014. Besides his teaching responsibilities, as an assistant professor at Farmingdale State College, Menchyk will continue research in fertilization, plant nutrition and cultural practices that impact turfgrass health.
Menchyk will discuss cultural care practices for the lawn care/landscape maintenance professional that impact decisions about fall fertilization, fall weed control options and overseeding practices. Best management practices to prepare turfgrass lawns for the winter season and ensure a healthy turfgrass stand in the spring will be highlighted.

Registration fee is $10 per event. Advance registration is required. Check should be payable to the University of Connecticut.
